My name is Hal. Originally from England, I recently packed up my life and moved north to Scotland with the love of my life. The people here are warm and inviting. So far it's been a fantastic experience and I am loving every second of settling in to my new home.

I've worked retail for over ten years and I'm now a team leader! Despite the fact that it's early days, I really enjoy where I work and my co-workers. Outside of work I adore art, spending my time painting, sketching and visiting galleries. Creating and appriciating visual work makes me feel grounded. Other activities I enjoy are writing, making playlists and burning them to CDs and spending time with my friends. Due to the distance, me and my friends love drawing online and playing video games together.

Going to the beach has become a favourite outing of mine. Growing up it was a rare treat, but now, energy and work permitting I get to visit whenever I'd like! I could sit for hours watching the waves and scurrying across the sand to retrive shells, pottery and sea-glass.

Of course I need to write about my amazing partner! Oftentimes I've made the comparison that he colours my world, making things saturated and bright. He is the most incredible, caring, kind and compassionate man I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, let alone loving. Jay is proof that a future is possible, and gentlemen exist. He makes every day magical. Not only is he fantastically handsome, he's a brilliant writer, which is how we met.

Currently

Right now, my interest in Metal Gear is back. I've been meaning to re-read The Secret History by Donna Tartt again. Do I need to mention my love for hot drinks now that the weather is turning cold? Nothing beats a tea or thick hot chocolate to warm my hands up. I'm also trying to find a dusty purple/taupe blush for the colder months and a nail polish colour that truly suits me.
